Moderator, was wondering if my post is ok here or should be moved to the open discussion forum?

I'm a picture person. My parents gave me my 1st full size camera, a Canon w/ all the bells & whistles (lenses & flashes) many moons ago. It uses 35mm film & I love it so much, it will go to the grave w/ me. In December, I finally broke down & purchased my 2nd digital camera. (My first was a name brand that only lasted a whopping 10 seconds.) My new one is also a Canon & accommodates all the bells & whistles of my 35mm. I like the digital camera, but prefer the 35mm. Right now, I have absolutely no photos on the digital camera chip. I am thinking I would probably use the camera more if I had a fabulous photo software program to play with. I'm not sure I'll ever be a big fan of the digital camera. It seems easier to just drop a roll of 35mm into the camera, click away & then drop the roll off at a local dpt. store & let them work their magic. The digital camera just seems like too much work to me, but maybe, a fabulous software program will give me the push to get w/ the times? Anyone have a software recommendation for me?

I also want to include a short video clip in my next trip report. I know how to use a cam corder & my new digital camera to record short clips, but know absolutely nothing on how to create & load a "movie". I have some time today to research the internet, but if anyone has a recommendation for a software program or a website to visit to learn more, it would be greatly appreciated.

Let me know if you haven't found anything and I'll do some research for you too. I use the software that came with my camera and also use Adobe Photoshop.

I really like I photo. you can change your pic's fairly easy and you can also make books and calenders online. I'm thinking about making a calender of the beach for next year. But it supper easy and that always works for me.
