There is a possiblity that a WonderWorks attraction may be coming to Myrtle Beach. WonderWorks is an upsidedown attraction and has two locations (Orlando & Pigeon Forge) which is an amusement area for the mind, featuring over 100 interactive exhibits for the entire family to experience.

Company president said publically that the company is looking at Myrtle Beach for its next location.

I haven't heard any more about this recently. If somethign pops up we'll definately let everyone know. I suspect the area may see an influx of new bigger things in the next few years.

I noticed that on the new Broadway map, they added wonder works. Will they make the building look flipped like all the previous Wonder Works? Any news on this?

Where is this new map? I want to see this. I went to the one in Pigeon Forge TN while we were on my honeymoon the first of July and it is awesome. It is so sweet and so much fun. It would rock to have one down here.

Holy crap you were right. I just looked it up and they do have the date as TBD but still its coming. It is listed under attractions. I wonder where they will put it and I know the building will be built looking like it is upside down because that is the storyline of the building it was transported through the bermuda triangle. Here is the link.

That's what I heard and...it'd make the most logical sense, especially since that end of the facility is somewhat void of family attractions. Other than the carousel park it has nothing where the other end has the nostalgia park, magic quest, the theater, golf, the motion simulators etc...

Now that Freestyle is closed for the season, my buzz has shifted to this Wonderworks attraction. Last I read on The Sun News was that is was supposed to open in Spring 2010 at the site of the old Crab House at BATB. To date, I've yet to see any signs of demolition or work on this attraction. Now, I'm getting worried. I also have not heard of anything taking the place of the old Nascar Cafe, and the Nascar Speedpark's pond in the front looks like an insect-infested pea soup swamp. Can't the new owners afford to run those fountains anymore? That area is starting to look shabby. Okay, Mike, stop.......

Thanks! I'd hate to see that project fall through. It looks like a perfect fit for Broadway which is already the "Downtown Disney" of Myrtle Beach. That whole area of town has an Orlando feel to it. I also wish SOMEONE would buy that Nascar Cafe site. I can picture a Rainforest Cafe there.....dream on, right.

The outfit that owns the Rainforest Cafes was on the verge of bankruptcy earlier this year. I'm not sure what ever became of that though.

That was a very nice place. We visited the one in Orlando back in '05, at Downtown Disney. It has since closed and is now a Dinosaur themed restaurant.
